The yellow suspension bridge over the channel between Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan

Yellow Bridge

The suspension bridge to Nusa Ceningan

The Yellow Bridge (Jembatan Kuning) is the narrow suspension bridge that links Nusa Lembongan to its small neighbour, Nusa Ceningan, across a shallow tidal channel. It is wide enough for pedestrians and scooters, and it is the only land link between the two islands.

The original bridge collapsed in October 2016 while crowded with people on their way to a temple ceremony, a tragedy that cost several lives. It was rebuilt and reopened, and today it is again the busy, cheerful heart of island life — and one of the most photographed spots on Lembongan, especially in the soft light of late afternoon.

Top things to do at Yellow Bridge

Cross to Nusa Ceningan

Walk or ride across and explore Ceningan’s quiet roads, the Blue Lagoon and its clifftop bars.

Watch the seaweed farmers

At low tide the channel below is dotted with seaweed plots and farmers wading between them.

Photograph it at golden hour

The best angles are from the Lembongan shore near the bridge’s base, or from the water on a snorkel boat.

How to get to Yellow Bridge

  • From Jungutbatu: about 3 km, around 10 minutes by scooter via Lembongan village.
  • From Mushroom Bay: about 3 km by road.
  • By buggy: golf buggies can take you to the bridge, but not across it — walk over and hire a scooter or ride on Ceningan.

Insider tips

  • Cars and buggies cannot cross — only pedestrians, bicycles and scooters.
  • Ride slowly and give way; the deck is narrow and traffic comes both ways.
  • Ceningan’s roads are steep and rough in places; only ride there if you are confident on a scooter.
  • Early morning and late afternoon are cooler and quieter.
